Sometimes lost becomes our worst pretender
as whispers of direction astray in the wind
Questions hang in a wasteland of confusion
barren, discarded in reckless abandon
Born as a seedling with arms entangled
our cry the voice of new life and breathing
Blood coursing through veins, tiny limbs extending
reaching out, little beauty begins its journey

Alone on a landscape and rising above
impossible surroundings, desolate, vacuous
Voices rest insecurities tending
we are bathed in contentment as life meant to be
And yes, we stand alone in the spirit of many
as one we are ultimate and sole provider
Our limbs to the soil and outward reaching
as light-years turning pages of history
_
As lone as the withering sun in its setting
turns light into darkness, the night will fall
Moonlight, effervescent austerity glowing
companion in the presence, we find our way
For the dawn brings a comfort of days in longing
salient tangibility hanging in the balance
Discovery merging, our purpose unfolds
You and I unmistakably meant to be
In this, a continuing series, I am honored and excited to share a collaborative undertaking with gifted Atlanta, Georgia photographer Carolyn C. Meltzer titled ‘Stunning Visuals In Verse’ pairing my own original written verse through the inspiration of Carolyn’s striking photographic images. One of the most fundamental means to enhance poetry’s reader experience is through the pairing of stunning photographic images in a union of compelling and inspired perceptions that only the individual reader can fully embrace.
