Early bright sifting through broken clouds as

Daylight’s promise was slow in keeping

Lazy o’er mountain’s ridge promontory

Mottled in pine stands sparse, imposing

Lake water’s pebble of morning shimmer

Serenity’s stepping stones, sallow bring

Witness to earthly balance conserving

A specter of silent dream’s awaken

Limbs in their fledgling leaflets subdued

Occasion the season’s vitality

As I, they would gaze in heavenly reach

For answers to hesitant question

Imminent their passage, winds of season

Foreshadowing prayer as peace upon nigh

And there on the shores of temporal being

I would walk upon pageant of union

  1. Each line builds fluently to that fine conclusion
“I would walk upon pageant of union”

the images throughout are telling and elegantly presented
    with superior word choices.
Don, your work is always a deep pleasure.

    My best to You
