Poetic Verse of Don MacIver

Dedicated to immensely gifted photographer Carolyn C. Meltzer…

COPPERLEAF COLD

Emergent chill of winter’s coming

Swept across a morning sky in muted

Shades of crimson falling, touching down in

Gentle fragrance, cradled on a bed of stone

As copperleaf in cold spoilation

Teardrops felled in shudder, silence on

A bed of cobblestone, convoluted

Rest in cold sublime of earthly passing
