Grassland’s Gloaming; introspection, poetry, prose

Afternoon’s lateness brought about sun’s fair leaning

As insubordinate beams of light in trailing

Interrupted frequent and nontransferable

Mystified as though in my thoughts undermining

And there partial darkness of wood, grassland’s gloaming

Would obscure with each footstep on copper grass soil

Absorbing my footholds as sponge would to waters

Craggy tree limbs truncating the passage of time

In a fanciful linger as arm’s outreaching

Contrivance as mystical dreams of my wandering
